Black Hair Salons

South Carolina, Columbia - Report by Isabella. Today, we will give information about Black Hair Salons.

Either my tolerance levels are really low or I am just FED up.  I am sick and tired of BLACK HAIR SALONS. Firstly they don't know S*** about natural hair that is why so many women have receding hair lines and a plethora of other hair damages. Chemical treatments like relaxers and "natural blows" are pushed on women because it's quick and the margins are higher.

I walked into a hair salon yesterday to ask for my DIY installed crotchet weave  to be shaped. Unfortunately, I cannot cut my own hair and the SALON OWNER had the nerve to ask me "why do you want your hair to look like a mop".  Okay so let me get this straight it is okay for me to wear a Brazilian, Indian and Peruvian weave and have this jet black or blonde straight hair streaming from my head,  but you will get ridicule me for wearing a weave that looks most like my hair.

I am so sick and tired of  stylist in Johannesburg, who say Natural hair is a problem, who tell you that your hair is a mess and you need to do something about it, which means putting a chemical on my kinks and curls as lets face it is easier for them to style.  After having this chemical treatment and your hair starts to break and you go back to the same stylist to tell them about your damaged hair  they turn around and say "oh sisi your hair is not strong lets cut it and start again".  I am so sick and tired of stylist who insist on braiding your hair and taking you hairline back several generations and when you go back and say well my hairline is gone they tell you " oh sorry sisi but did you know its GENETIC did your mother have the same problem" well as a matter of fact she DID BECAUSE SHE CAME TO YOU. I am so sick and tired of salon owners who do not stock products for natural hair and if they do they charge you a kidney for the products because you know that +III Sisters of Nature  actually comes via the moonI am so sick and tired of  stylist who BURN your hair as they blow dry it because for some strange reason someone told them that you can only straighten natural hair with the highest heat setting and a fine tooth comb.   I AM SO FED UP.

BUT is it the stylist at fault or is the problem ME! Though the stylist told me my hair looked like a mop I smiled and PAID him for shaping my weave, and though I know that nothing good can come of someone pulling my edges I sit quietly in that chair and when my edges are sufficiently pulled I get up and pay for the service (and take a selfie). Though I am fully aware that high heat  BURNS, I will sit in that chair silently as a cloud of smoke rises above my head, and when my hair is bouncy and smells like burning sulfur I will get up and pay and make my appointment for the next week. I am to blame for all this,  I keep quiet and go home take a Panado to relieve the pain,  complain a bit and then guess what, I  go back and sit in that chair.

YOUR HAIR CANNOT speak and if it could it would probably have a few choice words for you, the only way we are going to stop the attack on our hair is to tell the stylist, the braider and the salon owner to STOP.  The only way we are going to get black hair salons to actually start taking care of natural hair is to demand that they do, the only way we are going to get products in salons for our hair is tell them what we want and to refuse to pay high prices. We are the key to having salons take us seriously, I for one am totally FED UP!

Remember to love your hair always!
